Go straight to Burnt Sugar
If I'm reading reviews, it's basically for one reason: what color should I buy? I must have 7-8 colors of this and there are only two shades I would buy twice: Bourgeoisie and Burnt Sugar. This gloss is my go-to gifts for girlfriends and I buy Burnt Sugar time and again. There's something about it that adapts to every lip/skin tone, even though it looks a bit severe in the tube. Everyone always loves it. These are the two shades that can also be greatly varied, depending on the tone of your liner.

Just why?
I've been using various Chanel glosses faithfully for about 15 years. I can't understand why Chanel would completely discontinue all colors and introduce entirely new ones. I took my favorite glosses Unity and Constellation to Nordstrom in hopes to get something very similar. Sadly, these new glosses don't compare in color complexity. They are pretty one dimensional and lack the subtle sparkle of the original Glossimers. They also have a flowery smell which I personally don't care for. I don't see how they improved on the glosses at all so I don't understand the "revamp". They don't have more staying power - in fact I think they have less, and the tube is exactly the same. Getting all of the gloss out has always been a design flaw and an annoying issue - one I would think they would improve upon when revamping the product but they didn't. Why change if nothing is better?? I'm not impressed and pretty irritated that they just stopped making so many beloved colors. I will be looking into an entirely different line for my glosses. So sad.

Terrible
Longtime lover of the old Glossimers-but these new replacements are terrible. I went over to Nordy's the day they were launched totally convinced I would be picking up at least a few. I was really excited to try them. I swatched and tried on nearly half (in the shades I was interested in). They are thin, super sheer, lacking pigment and not sticky. The not sticky could be a plus except for that they slide and run all over the lips like an ointment. They have no tack to them to keep them in place or from being a thin runny mess. These are great for a 12 year old who is not yet ready for color. I can't believe the folks over at Chanel got rid of the old Glossimers for these. Bummer. Bring back the Glossimers and get these on the discontinued list.

Out with the Old In with the Bad
I was disappointed when I learned Chanel discontinued my old glossimer. I received the new formula a few weeks ago. My the color is close but the coverage is thin at best and is FAR less moisturizing than the old glossimer. I am having to continuously re-apply it throughout the day, and now my tube is almost gone. The original formula was so much better. It was smooth and thick, wasn't this slippery, it has wonderful and long-term coverage, and kept my lips extremely moist. This is very drying and hard on the lips. I guess i am on the hunt again. If it ain't broke don't fix it Chanel... bad move!

Why change something that is already good?
I was a little disappointed whenI heard that Channel was discontinuing their glossimer lip glosses. So I went to all the major stores buying all of my favorite colors before they were all gone. Wondering if they also changed their ingredients since I have several allergies to some chemicals used in make up. Their old formula was perfect and my skin didnt react. This is the ONLY lipgloss line and company that I was able to use even tho its pretty pricey. Dont know why Nordstroms website doesnt list ingredients its important for people to know what they are putting on their lips.

Good lipgloss but I prefer the old formula
I've been wearing the old Glossimer in Spark for about 15 years so I was upset to find it had been discontinued! I tried the new formula in Opulence, which Chanel says is the closest match. It's a little more pigmented but goes on very smooth; however I don't like how the new formula has a scent. You can smell it while you're wearing it. If you're looking for the old formula, call a store; they may still have it in stock. I called the store in Norfolk, VA and the saleswoman was so helpful and searched the entire Nordstrom stock for me! She went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. Unfortunately, Nordstrom stores don't have Spark anymore, but I was able to call Chanel headquarters and they pointed me to a couple Chanel boutiques that still had it. I was able to buy a few years' supply that way! Just wanted to get the word out!
Overall, the new glossimer feels good on the lips and looks beautiful on, but I prefer the old formula.
