PLATINUM ÉGOÏSTE Deodorant Stick

I have been a long-time user of Chanel Egoiste Platinum spray Pour Homme and will continue to be so; however, as much as I enjoy the "fragrance" of the "Chanel Egoiste" Pour Homme scent., the "Deodorant" is "Alcohol-based" which, in a relatively short time frame, begins to lose its "fragrance (as with any "alcohol-based" deodorant). Also, the "stick" itself does not last nearly as long as a "non-alcohol-based" deodorant! I would hope that, as with other fine (higher priced/quality deodorants such as Givenchy), Chanel would come out with a "NON-ALCOHOL-BASED" deodorant. If this product were of the "non-alcohol-based" type, I would easily have given it a 5-star rating (as I do for the Pour Homme spray.)

I picked this up as an upgrade from my usual drug store deodorant. It smells great, but the first thing I noticed was that it goes on very "wet," and can even sting a little (likely due to the alcohol content) -- it felt more like I was smearing cologne under my arms than deodorant. I didn't love that, but within a couple of weeks, it got a lot worse: the product itself started to break down inside the plastic tube, and eventually crumbled into chunks that fell through the applicator into the bottom of the tube. That's unacceptable for a $40 deodorant, but generously, it could've been a fluke. The store clerk very graciously replaced the product with a brand new one when I brought it back to him... only for exactly the same thing to happen a couple weeks later. Never again.
