MÉDITERRANÉE LUMIERE D'ETE Illuminating Powder (Limited Edition)

To me, the word illumination means to "brighten" or create a glow, so if you have fair skin, cool undertone, (like me) you will probably have a problem with this product, although beautiful to look at, I cannot see it on my face, and cannot see any on the brush (or skin) when I use a soft brush. Cannot see it illuminating anything. I would say this is a product for a skin tone DARKER than the illuminator. The product is also very dense and does not apply easily (this is why I tried a goat hair brush) and still couldn't see any illumination, just a dark orange/beige. Was really excited about this, but now not so much. So, I would recommend purchase if your skin is darker than the product, you may obtain some "illumination" then. On the upside, the colored pencil style eyeshadows for this season, by chanel, are awesome! Especially the purple. Love it.

I am NC42-44 for reference; this does not show up at all. I think it would only work for fair to medium skin tone in my opinion.

For reference I am NC25 and YSL touche eclat B30 and Chanel Vitalumeire aqua B30(when tanned) with warm olive/yellow undertones and this beauty gives my light colored skin beautiful peachy goldeny radiance! Its not Orange .. On my skin its a pretty peach.. N all peaches suit me.. Thanks to my warm undertone! I can see that this won't work for all skintones.. If you are fair/light skin toned and love to collect highlighters (only the pretty ones) like I do .. You have to get it! Let me warn you though.. You will need a little more product to get the desired results unless you are VERY fair.. But i think its worth it and only because it gives my face a flawless sunkissed radiance!! I just love anything with golden understones..

I was really disappointed with this. By the title of it, I thought it would be an "illuminating" bronzer. This is nothing like what the description says. It's an overpriced orange powder. It's also too firmly packed so I needed to use a very dense brush (one I would use for foundation) just to pick up any of the product in the pan. This went right back to Nordstrom for a refund.

So I have purchased many Chanel Illuminating Powders because in my opinion they are some of the best highlighters. So creamy and buttery and blend like a dream. As soon as I opened the packaging I knew this would not be illuminating at all, BUT it is the most beautiful BRONZER! It blends like a dreams and looks so natural! Not sure why this is considered a highlighter, but I am thinking of buying a backup because I love it as a bronzer!

This bronzing powder is amazing. It gives just the right amount of color to cheeks, creates a beautiful sun kissed color without the "sparkle" that you find in many of the mineral powders. Because of my age, the last thing I want is something that sparkles on my face. Those things only go on my fingers or earlobes. :-) Love the camellia as well, can't wait to see how long it lasts! Buy a GOOD brush!
