What it is: A lip serum that combines efficacy and sensoriality, offering hydrating, plumping and soothing benefits.

What it does: Lightweight and water-fresh, the formula absorbs instantly and creates a thin protective layer on lips, keeping them hydrated for up to 24 hours. The serum features microfluidic technology, a unique process that encapsulates the power of the white camellia flower in microdroplets, preserving its purity until the moment of application. Composed of 95% naturally derived ingredients, the formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid, which is able to hold 1,000 times its weight in water to help skin retain moisture. White camellia helps plump and boost hydration and reinforce barrier function.

How to use: Swipe on a thin layer to soothe and plump lips. Place the serum in the refrigerator for a cooling sensation. Apply the lip serum and let it fully absorb to create a smooth base for lipstick, or enhance the moisturizing effect of lipstick by applying the serum as a final touch.

I’m not sure about the negative reviews but if you like Hydra line, you will absolutely love this. It’s literally water for your lips. It gets absorbed super fast yet stays in and plumps your lips from within. I tried it with new Armani Squalane lipgloss, and oh my gosh! The juiciest most hydrated lips like ever! And the best part once it wears off it doesn’t dry the lips and they don’t peel. Also I tried it with matte Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, just dabbed some and it was amazing as well! It’s a must have! Now I’m excited to wear lipstick and glosses again. No more dry lips. Just perfect lips!

yuck
I never return beauty products but this one was absolutely grotesque and I took it back. It is both dry and sticky and adds no moisture whatsoever. No shine. Just not worth the money.

Needs work
I was initially excited to see a new lip offering in the Hydra line and loved the silicone nib that is super squishy and dispenses product through 4 tiny holes. But this product is initially watery with a cotton candy like sweetness that then turns extremely sticky and is bitter if you lick your lips. It is not shiny, and you cannot build more product to get a more plush layering; you will just remove what you put on. If you wipe it off after some time,, yes your lips will be moderately moisturized but nothing warranting this price.

I really was excited to try this lip serum, because I really like the Hydra Beauty line. This product is woefully overpriced and underwhelmingly under performing. It doesn’t hydrate and doesn’t last long on the lips. It doesn’t even make a nice base for lipstick— I’m not sure I have a single positive thing to say about it. Even the dispenser is awkward. And for the price, the amount of product is a pittance. There are other balms and treatments at lower price points that are far more effective. I would call this a hard pass. Should have given it one star.
