Cham Reduc Storm Gore-Tex^® SE Sneaker (Men)

I had high hopes on these. I loved the design and form. The upper has a nice pattern and the gtx is just icing on the cake there. Unfortunately- the midsoles feel like bricks. There’s zero give so the only cushion is the insoles…. For short uses this is fine but if you want to walk say on vacation? Not your best option. The outsoles can sometimes be slippery (haven’t figured out which surfaces/wet conditions cause this) as well which is very ironic given they’re gtx water resistant. Don’t buy.

I was looking for a good-looking waterproof sneaker and this meets what I expected. I wore these out during a full day of showers and they did not disappoint. Some additional notes: (1) While they are the same size as my other Merrells, they are slightly looser - I would still get the same size as my other shoes, since even a half size smaller would be too tight; if you plan on running in these, then maybe a half size smaller might be the move. (2) These are stiff at first and take more breaking in than a normal sneaker. (3) Traction is good, but not to the level of a hiking shoe (for example, for use in mud).
