Three Quarter Sleeve Tee

I own 8 long or 3/4 length sleeve Caslon shirts from the 100% cotton era, mostly in size XS. You know, when Caslon shirts were made with thicker, quality fabric. I returned this one the same day it arrived to my house. The fabric is cheap and ultra clingy. The length makes this more of a tunic. For the record, I weigh only 100 pounds. The small was too tight on me. Given that in other clothing I'm still a size 0-2P or an XS, I found the sizing of this rather odd. If I wanted one of these shirts to fit my bust area, I'd need a medium or large. (I'm a 32-34C) But then it wouldn't fit in the shoulders and would be a dress.

Although i like the styling of this shirt, it is very close-fitting, so order up if you don't want the leotard look. I have been needing a basic 3/4 sleeve white shirt, but this fabric is so thin and sheer I couldn't wear it without a cami. Perhaps a color would be less see-through. Unfortunately, It had to go back.

This garment ("Caslon® Three Quarter Sleeve Tee") is luxurious looking, and feels great against the skin. It is, however, rather long in the back. I initially ordered XL (my typical Nordstrom size for most tops - Caslon, Halogen, etc.) but found it to be really fitted in the torso so I returned the XL and ordered the XXL hoping for a better body fit. When it arrived, it was large enough to (almost) fit the way Caslon tops normally fit in XL. HOWEVER, the XXL length measures approximately 29" and that means this Tee sits about six inches above my knees - in the mid-thigh area. There's some good and some not-so-good things to say about the length. First, the good: I can easily wear this top with leggings. (I might also be able to wear this tee as a dress :). The boat neck dresses up this tee as well. The material looks great. The teal color I ordered is richly saturated with color (a good thing) and I'm thinking I might wear the teal version of this top with dark brown leggings and gold jewelry. The not-so-good quality of this garment may also be its length: If you're petite and wear a larger size, do you want a long tee that covers half of your thighs? Only you can answer that question (I'm 5'4" just so you know). I have yet to wear it out, so the feedback I get from others may also be meaningful. For its striking color, luxurious feel, and stylistic neckline, I'm giving this Three Quarter Sleeve Tee a four-star rating. This top wasn't described as a tunic, but on me it fits like one - so the silver lining is this: "Bring on the leggings!"

I love the original long sleeve Caslon tees andHave purchased probably 15 in black over the years... THESE ARE NOT THEY! This is the very thin fabric tee that for some reason Caslon sometimes offer. I wish they would clearly define in their description “THIN” because it’s annoying to have to return them, especially during covid. Nothing like their regular Caslon tees and they stretch out 1 to 2 sizes over time.
