Linen Shirtdress

I was not planning on purchasing from Nordstrom today. I was just walking through and this dress was on the end of the aisle. The last thing I was planning on was trying something on during my quick stop at the mall. I tried the dress on and it is well cut. It is loose fitting but does not look shapeless. The pockets are a very nice detail and gives it a bit more of a shape. I will likely be wearing this dress a lot and am looking forward to wearing it this weekend!

This is one of my new "goto" Dress!! Easy to wear, think pencil material so no slip needed and goes very well with sandals... Great for running errands, Grocery store runs!!

I like this dress; I don't love this dress. The fabric is heavy so it is more for Fall. I like the way it fits on me. I ordered a medium petite. I'm 5'3 and 130 lbs. I would have ordered a regular medium. The length is just at my knee. I think I'll keep it but can't imagine wearing it on a hot summer day.

Finally, a linen dress I don't have to iron and still wear without guilt! Yes, this wrinkles, and yes, it looks like my oldest and most beloved nightshirt, but that's part of the wit and style of this dress. I get so tired of casual summer clothes that cling, showing every bulge. Pear-shaped women like me love nightshirts for a reason -- they're flattering, skimming over what should be skimmed over. At 5 feet tall, the medium (the size I normally wear) hits right at my knee. At 150 pounds, it is loose and baggy, but that's a good thing. If I wear the dress (I ordered the blue stripe) with a pair of coral wedges, put on jewelry and carry a straw bag, no one thinks I'm in my PJs. A great alternative to jeans to wear on summer weekends while running errands.

I expect this dress to become a staple of my wardrobe. It is versatile in that I can dress it up, or go casual. It is just a bit short for me in that I can still see part of my knees. I am taller than average for my age (5"8", 66) but went with it anyway! Love the soft feel of the fabric, the washed denim color, and the hourglass silhouette. I typically wear a small or medium, and the small fits best.

This dress is great quality. The fabric, lining, seems etc were done really nice. I only gave it four stars since I think it runs really big. I ordered my normal size of PS (5,2" , 115 lbs) and it was huge on me. It made me look like I was wearing my Grandpa's nightshirt. I do think I would like it sized down but I'm not sure going down just one size would do it. Since they only have PXS at this time I've chosen not to try it.
