Button-Up Tank Midi Dress

I need a dress for an noon BBQ in humid, 95-degree weather, so I'm trying all kinds of styles. This dress has heavy but breathable fabric that's amazingly not see-through (with underwear and bra that match my skin tone). It's not itchy, although it does wrinkle like linen blends usually do. Not as bad as plain linen tends to wrinkle, but I'll have to use the steamer before every wear (which I'm fine with). My problem is the fit. I'm 5'4", 130 pounds, and usually a size S in Caslon pants. This is my first Caslon dress, so I tried the S and the M. The S fit me like a sausage casing. And while the M technically fit, you could see the outline of my underthings and it pulls across the bust (32D) while puckering under the arms. I could probably make it work if I wore Spanx, but nobody's getting me into Spanx in 95 degrees with no shade. Note that it's also much longer on me and comes to my ankle, but that's to be expected since I'm so much shorter than the model. I'm going to try the L, since I really do like the fabric and style, but these two sizes have to go back. Fingers crossed the L fits like a real M.

Love this dress! I think its the perfect summer dress that can be dressed up or down. I'm 5'7 and it hits at my calf. I've worn it through the recent heatwave and the fabric is light and fresh, doesn't feel like you are wearing a heavy dress. I'd say the dress runs true to size, perhaps slightly oversized, but if you're going for that flowy fun summer dress look, you can just get your normal size. I could probably size down to a small but it would be slightly tighter than i would want in the midsection. I've worn this with and without shapewear and looks great either way. Again, bc the dress is slightly loose. Would recommend 100%

My initial purchase was for my normal size -- medium, because the headline info on this dress was that it ran true to size. That was not my experience. And, reading others reviews, it seems to be a common theme. Like one of the other reviewers I've sized up (2 sizes, since that was all that was availalbe), and my fingers are crossed that it'll work, because it otherwise seems like a great summer dress. Casual, comfortable...if only it will fit!

I really love this dress for summer. I was looking for a midi dress that didn’t look like a moo-moo and this fits the bill. I’m partial to black dresses so this is a nice change for me. I’m 5’7” 155 lbs and usually wear a small or medium in Caslon, the medium was really tight and the large isn’t much better. I’m going to try again with an XL hoping it isn’t completely oversized bc I really love this dress.
