Cashmere V-Neck Sweater

I usually buy at least one of the Nordstrom Cashmere sweaters every year, and this year, I ordered 2 in the new colors. However, after trying them on, they are not the same quality as previous years. The cashmere is very thin and just doesn't hold it's shape, the body is very unstructured and somewhat loose, even though it fits in the arms, although I did notice the arms length is also a little shorter than before. It just didn't fit nicely and looked sloppy. I returned both sweaters which is disappointing as I counted on these as a staple every year, they had been consistent for a long time.

I ordered the M and the fit is perfect. I did, however, have some misgivings about buying this sweater as the online description said “spot clean only.” Never encountered this before with a cashmere sweater but the tag on the sweater says “dry clean only.” Anyone who is familiar with cashmere knows that to prolong the life of your cashmere sweaters, they must be hand washed, never dry cleaned.

Cashmere is thin, but soft. I am keeping because the price is right and it doesn’t pouch on the sides where the ribbing meets the bottom of the sweater…surprisingly very hard to find. That is the first thing I look for…if it pouches, I move on. I gave it a three stars due to the thinness of the cashmere and the size runs small. I am usually a medium in sweaters, but I like it a bit oversized so I went one size up. Probably should have gone 2 sizes up. I am used to a much thicker cashmere hence being surprised by the thinness. If you are looking for a more fitted sweater order your true size. Otherwise size up or 2…depending on the look you are going for.
