Canali
Canali traces its origins back to 1930s Italy, a place and time associated with the dawn of modern suiting. Two generations later, the Canali family still crafts their clothing and accessories in Italy, with headquarters in Sovico. The brand is best known for its impeccable suits, sport coats and dress shirts and also offers more-casual sportswear pieces.

Canali Suits
I've been wearing Canali suits for the better part of 25 years and the goods they produce has only gotten better with time. I used to sell high-end suits and Canali probably offers some of the best mid-priced, mass-produced suits on the market today. The fit, feel, construction and finish are absolutely top notch for what you pay. They're a great value. I will say that sometimes their sizing can be just a touch inconsistent, but overall, there's no reason to pay more (unless you just want to#.
Canali produces 3 different models and Nordstrom tends to carry the 11XXX model which is the fullest cut #drop 6#. But, don't let that fool you, it is definitely not a big, boxy suit. You still need to be in reasonable shape to fit into it. However, you have to be careful because sometimes Nordstrom will have some pieces in the slightly slimmer cut #model code 13XXX# which is a drop 7.
Lastly, I just have to say that regardless of how much you spend on a suit, if it's the wrong size and/or not tailored properly, the suit is going to look terrible on you. This includes the length of the coat. Don't go by what you see in the stock vendor/retailer photos because a majority of them have models that are 6'2" or so, yet they're wearing an IT 48R or 50R. The coat needs to cover your rear end, period. In many of the photos you see, the models have half their rear end showing. This is wrong, so get the right size to begin with #chest, shoulders and length# and let the tailor tweak the rest.

Tailor
Love the Canali suit, but tailor service ruined the suit. When I first went in for the tailoring, things seemed to go well until I returned to pick up the suit and found the tailoring to be the worst I've ever experienced.
First, the coat fit as if no tailoring had been done to the coat. The sleeves were too long and the body of the jacket didn't seem to have been taken in. The length of the trousers were bunched up at my ankles. No matter how particular someone might be about the length, I don't know anyone who would want their Canali trousers to bunch up at their ankles like a construction worker's jeans.
I understand that mistakes can be made and it seemed that my request to make the tailoring right were courteously attempted. Unfortunately, one side of the seams puckers on the coat where it was taken in, the sleeves are a bit longer than I would like but tolerable. But again, the pants were bad, too short this time, but wearable since I had a formal to attend and needed the suit.
I will continue to shop at Nordstrom but will never use the Nordstrom tailoring service again. I'm paying a tailor to hopefully fix the suit I bought.
Very disappointed

Canali suit
You won't find a more comfortable and exquisite looking suit. I can even sleep in it. That's how comfortable it is.
With respect to looks, come on, it's a Canali. Enough said. No chance anyone would be disappointed with this suit.

A great, versatile suit
I've bought three Canali pieces at Nordstrom in the past two weeks and love them all. This suit is a unique shade of navy with a slight hint of teal in it. It is a super 100+ wool and fits as you would expect a Canali to fit - perfect. I love it.

THE go-to business suit
This was the first full-canvas suit I ever bought and let me tell you, it was the best money I ever spent on clothes. Charcoal is a great neutral that goes with everything--but this wool is amazing. Soft to the touch, hangs just right, and wrinkles come out easily with just a bit of steam when travelling. The weight is just right for all four seasons. I wore it with a white shirt and conservative tie for job interviews, and now I wear it with more exciting shirts and ties as the perfect neutral backdrop. When I need an outfit for business, this is always the first thing I reach for in the closet.

Service
Howard Vean provided first rate service. The suit I wanted was not in stock but he ordered it and had my measurements taken so that I would not have to return to the store since I live 100 miles away. He then helped me find the shoes I wanted and, again, ordered my size. I have been shopping at Nordstrom's since you came to Denver and, while service has always been good, no one had every offered to what Howard did.
I also appreciate that you carry Canali suits and Santoni shoes. I have tried cheaper brands and not only is the quality not there, neither is the value! They last much longer.
My NOrdstrom's experience was great and I laud Howard and look forward to working with him again!
