Mystique Water Repellent Longline 625 Fill Power Down Parka

As a lifelong Chicagoan, I know cold, windy winter weather. This coat handles it. Long enough to keep you comfortable in really harsh conditions, yet fashionable, comfortable, and clearly very well made. I plan on keeping and enjoying this coat for many years. Worthy of the investment. Everything you want and need.

I am looking for more than just ‘meh' at this price point but there is not a lot of choice left out there this time of year. Pro: Maybe warm enough if it’s not too cold outside. Would not count on it below about 40 degrees. Con: VERY heavy; both inside and outside pockets are weird and pretty much useless (inside ones are floppy mesh, placed way too low and are very long so your phone bangs against your knee, while outside ones are too high and small for comfortable hand warming or storage, and none are zippered!); no front snaps just the zipper, which appears to be plastic; no zippered slits on the lower sides so it’s not as easy to take a big stride; runs quite small and tight if you want to wear any layers under it; not particularly effective for wind break. I much prefer the style of the FAT Goose Valenti but when I ordered that one, its horrible smell was so overwhelmingly rancid that it immediately gave me nausea and a headache even after airing out for 2 weeks so I had to return it. All in all, this one feels a bit cheap, like CG was cutting corners and hoping people would not notice and pay this exorbitant price for the name. I’ve been looking for a while and I really need a warm coat but I may return this one anyway.
