Kensington Slim Fit Down Parka with Genuine Coyote Fur Trim

Let me tell you that I have loved this over $700 coat but let me also warn you that their customer service is shoddy. They say they have a lifetime warranty for repairing the coat. It is a pricey coat, so it costs $50 to mail it in which is YOUR cost and you must get insurance. Here is my experience: There were two tears in one panel of the coat. To send it in you must take pictures of your coat and identify the model, etc. Then they review that and give you permission to send it in to a station in the US which then sends it in to Canada. Very time consuming. They tell you it takes a week for them to receive it. For me, it took a month. I sent it 11-7 and heard back from them Dec. 10. They had the information on my coat yet waited until they received it (after my shipping costs and aggravation) to tell me they do not have the fabric available to ship it so they are sending it back!!! I'm flabbergasted! Why didn't they tell me they do not have the fabric when I sent in the model and pictures? I could have waited until they had it to send it in! I asked if they would pay me my shipping for the waste of my time and expense. Their reply? "Sorry. Can't do that. So sorry this happened. But if you choose anyone else to repair it, you will lose your lifetime warranty. (But THEY can't repair it?) Thank you for choosing Canada Goose." Canada Goose is a coat I will never choose again. Their lifetime warranty does not exist.

I've lived in the North all of my life and will probably always live in an area with cold winters. I've purchased coats by Patagonia and North Face before. I consider $200+ for any coat as an investment. I decided to buy a Goose because I've heard their quality surpasses that of other high-end outdoor wear. I thought carefully about this coat before buying and I'm not disappointed. It's the warmest item I've ever worn. I don't even turn the heat on in the car during my morning drives. As far as style goes, I get lots of compliments on it (I bought the cranberry color). I usually only buy black coats, but I'm glad that I went with a color for this coat. If you spend a bit more on a coat, my reasoning is that you don't want it to look like everything else you own. For sizing, I'm petite. I liked this style because it has adjustable straps on the sides to make it more form fitting. It hits me at knees, which is slightly longer than modeled.

My beautiful 28 year old daughter is a three time cancer survivor and has issues with poor circulation in her right arm and leg. She has to endure tough Chicago winters and I wanted to find her the warmest coat possible. This Canada Goose is amazing. It is so well made and of the highest quality material. She loves the fur hood and all the convenient pockets. This was an investment that I gladly made to keep my sweet girl warm this winter.

I was blown away by the fact that a puffy coat could look really stylish. I got compliments everywhere and everyone wanted to touch the fur ruff. I couldn't tell from the photos but the hood was lined with soft fleece. I thought it looked weird at first but then loved it. I originally chose the Kensington because I was looking for a knee-length jacket. Once I owned it, I fell in love with how it looked. However, I returned it for a couple of reasons. First, the hand-warmer chest pockets were way too shallow. I could only fit my hands in them if I made a fist. Otherwise, half my hand jutted out. Even when stuffed my hands in those fleece-lined pockets, the wind got through and my hands got cold. Same for the lower pockets. Second, I am 5'1"/115lbs and am usually a XS so I got the XS and it felt a bit tight. I supposed it was "fitted," not to the extent to it being uncomfortable, but I definitely couldn't wear layers and layers of things underneath, which leads to the deal breaker for me: it wasn't warm enough. It was great when the temperatures were around high 30s but once it hit about 30 or 20, I was just as cold as I was in my older Patagonia Down With It coat. There was no point to owning two coats that was about the same warmth so I returned the Kensington for the Trillium which has a TEI of 4 instead of a 3. Letting go of the Kensington was really hard because it was so beautiful. My eyes were in love with it but my chilly body told me to be practical. I was spending $$$ to keep me warm, not to look awesome. So I'm still giving this jacket 5 stars because I would have kept it if I lived in Manhattan or Tokyo. The circumstances of my location just didn't allow me to sustain a long-term relationship with this beauty. :'(

I hesitated buying this parka b/c of the price but I was sick of being cold all the time when walking the dog, etc. and had heard terrific reviews about Canada Goose. I bought this in the cranberry color, and it is absolutely a lovely coat and very flattering on. I normally wear a large (size 12), but I found the cut of this coat a bit too tight for my pear-shaped figure and had to size up to an XL, which had 1 1/2" more room in the chest and hips. Even the chest was a bit tight on the large when I had a sweater on. The coat has been perfect for this winter in Chicago, and I have been toasty in weather that is -17 degrees with windchills of -50 degrees. The ruff on the hood really can keep out the snow blowing although I wish it fit a bit tighter around my ears like my Northface jacket. Also, the front bottom area does not cross over so the bottom of your thighs can get a little bit colder as they are not as protected as the rest of your body, but this is just the design of the coat. I also wish the pockets were a tad deeper and had zippers so that I didn't worry about something falling out. They have very secure toggles on them, but I would prefer zippers for keys, etc. These last few reasons were why I gave the coat 4 stars instead of 5. Meanwhile, I still would highly recommend it as it is so attractive on, wears well, repels light rain beautifully, and is super warm in cold weather.

Love this coat! I will finally be able to survive Chicago winters without hibernating. I just walked my dog for 40 minutes in 17 degrees F with a windchill of 2 degrees and was warm the entire time. When I put the hood up, the warmth factor increases significantly. It's definitely the most flattering and warmest coat I've tried, and I've tried many! I'm 5'4" and ~112 lbs and the XS fits perfectly, even if I have on extra layers.
