Brutus Combat Boot (Women)

These looked so cute on the app. When they arrived, I was happy that the box was light but when I opened it, I was really disappointed. These are more like black high top sneakers than boots. I was hoping for a lighter weight, unique Doc Marten-type boot. Returned them. I'll be sticking with the Docs.

I had a pair of Brutus boots from 5 years ago that were so comfortable and still look great. I had to replace them only because the sole had warn down so much (I wore them a lot) that it was very slippery. I ordered some replacements and noticed that there are a few little differences in the design. nothing major but as my old boots are so beloved I definitely noticed the difference. the leather is a much stiffer kind and the shoe is about a cm higher than before, not much but for a thick angled person like myself it is noticeable. they've taken longer to break in, the previous ones felt snug and comfortable straight away whereas these have definitely needed some wearing in. I loved the old pair so much that these small difference have been a bit of a disappointment but it is still a great boot. comfortable, light weight, and can be worn casually and formally.
