I am a mid 50 year gal that lives in Florida & travels to MN / CO / Europe 2 - 4 times per year. I wear quality, timeless clothing whenever possible - add scarfs or belts for color. Size 8 99% of the time work well (5'7, 145 pounds, medium breasts, medium hip size#. Was in need of 'Rain Coat' worthy of 2 weeks in Germany during 'rainy' yet FUN Ocktorberfest trip this year. Shipping was 2 days - delivered on time. Trench is better than I hoped for: Lining and hood are removable #but not obvious#. Fits true to form with lining in; looser with lining out allowing for a heavier sweater #versatile in casual or dressier look#. Stops 4" above my knee - looks great with slacks, mid length skirt or ankle length dress. Think James Bond gal. All exterior buttons and 4 hidden interior button are sewn on with double stiches #gee, what a concept# ... love it! Two metal clasps sewn in to keep collar nicely tucked around my neck and / or hidden pocket area. Belt is triple stitched around the buckle and has 3 belt holders - my options to belt it in the back or front are a nice touch. Pockets are not evident from the outside; are large enough to place cell phone, wallet, 'stuff' without worrying about the items falling out #and deep enough that if someone tried to pick pocket ... I'd feel their hand before it ever found my stuff#. Bonus: No Dry Cleaning!! It really is machine washable. Complaint / Suggestion: How do I hit 6 stars?

Not true to size - armhole problem

I love the coat and it is a good value; good quality. Now the problem. It is not a good fit. Something is wrong with the cut and design of the ARMHOLES..they are way to high for a normal person. I ordered a Large as I am size 10, and know that a double breasted coat/jacket can often be tight across the chest.so instead of a my normal medium I ordered Large. I could barely fit myself into the coat due to the location and size of the ARMHOLES...it seems sized for a size 4-6 petite. Not sure if ordering an XL will make a difference. None of the stores are located nearby so I can try it on before ordering. If my size 4-6 daughter-in-law can't fit into the Large I must return it. Sorry as I love the coat but it is poorly made or designed; although the fabric is of good quality.

Lovely trench

This trench is great in that it is versatile. It has the detachable hood, which was necessary because I did not want to walk around with a hood all the time even without rain. It also has the removable liner. This is a great feature too in that the liner even goes done to the sleeves! I felt that the medium is a bit big for me but the small would be too small especially in the arm length as I am tall 5'9.5' and around 135 pounds (I personally appreciate people putting their height and weight in reviews to give me a better idea as to where they are coming from). I haven't tested it in the rain yet, but I love the classy look of this jacket. The details are just perfect and I'm looking forward to taking it to Holland next April.

great coat, but…

i ordered down because of previews reviews that the coat ran large. i think it does run large, i can fit most size 2-4 and the xs had enough room still. i', 5'6, 120 pounds and a 32D. i ordered the xs and it was a good fit. the quality of the coat was exceptional and the details perfect. my only issue and the reason i'm returning it, is because of the color. the color in the picture is really light compared to the actual product. had the color been more of a sand or lighter khaki if thats even possible,i would of kept it in a heart beat. overall this is a great coat, but just to dark for me.

So Sad

Purchased XS in black. I am 5'3 110 lbs and it fit really good...except the arms. I have average length arms. But the sleeves were at least 2" too long this made the total look sloppy. I took the coat to my tailor and they said if they were to take up the arms they would need to move the buckle band on the sleeves up and do to the nature of the fabric it would leave hole marks. It would look out of proportion if the buckle band wasn't moved when shortening the sleeve. Too bad, because I have tried on several trench coats and this is the first one I liked. Great length for petites, nice removable lining and hood.

Looks very upscale

This coat is a must have. It looks, feels, and wears like the upscale brands at a fraction of the cost AND it's water resistant with a detachable hood and liner so can be worn in warm and cool weather. It's is made so well, with classic styling, that I expect to have it for a very long time. It's a great investment that's a no brainer. This coat is so nice and expensive-looking that I ordered another so now have the black and khaki. It has a nice weig large though. I am a usually a true size 4 at 5'4", 118 lbs and had to get an XS. On the XS, the shoulder seam-to-shoulder seam measurement across the very top of the shoulders is 16". The sleeve length is 25 inches from the shoulder to cuff; 19 inches from arm pit to arm pit with the coat lying flat, and the coat length from the top of the collar (on the back of the coat) to the bottom hem is 34". I hope that helps you decide on the size.

Finally the perfect Trench

I'm 5'6" 130lbs with a 34D chest size and thin arms. This coat fits perfectly everywhere in a small. My favorite details about the trench is the hood is removable as well as the flannel liner making it functional for multiple season wear. It dresses up jeans and a t shirt and I get tons of compliments on it every time I wear it.
