La Sélection Boisée Trio

Got this set to try all 3 perfumes. 2 out of 3 are great and Mohave Ghost is a new favorite. Super Cedar is a more masculine scent but I liked it on me. Not sure what it is, but Black Saffron smells like a mixture of day old perfume and cigarettes on me. Other people love it, but it just didn’t work on me - probably because the smell of cigarettes makes me nauseous. Staying power of the perfumes is excellent, which meant I had to scrub the scent of Black Saffron off the wrist I sprayed it on. Scents I absolutely love: Le Labo Santal 33, Juliette has a gun Sunnyside Up, DS and Durga Radio Bombay, Juliette has a gun Not a Perfume, Carolina Herrera Good Girl, YSL Black Opium, Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, and now adding Mohave Ghost to the list. It’s more flowery and powdery than I usually go for, but I’m glad I tried it.

I bought this specifically to try out Mohave Ghost (which was absolutely amazing) but I actually was really found of black saffron! I noticed that one had a bit longer wear on me, and it definitely was a unique scent that I’ve never smelled before. For Mohave Ghost it reminded me of Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, and is really a great spring scent. I lose the smell of it after a few hours on myself, but when I pick up a sweater or something I had on while wearing it I can smell it still (weird)! Black Saffron has a darker more sophisticated smell to it, and it dried down Smokey with hints of raspberry. I haven’t tried super cedar yet, but I’m contemplating giving it to my husband since I can’t get enough of the other two! Overall, I’d highly suggest you checking this out if you’re new to Byredo (like me).

Bought this for Mojave Ghost based on blogger suggestion. It was the scent I actually liked the least. Very sweet and smelled similar to other things I already own. Was surprised at how much I liked the other 2 scents. They DIDN'T smell like other things I have. Black Saffron smells peppery at first and then mellows into a sweet smell. Super Cedar was probably my favorite....has that resin-y tree smell. I would consider it unisex and I usually like girly scents so it was a pleasant surprise. Still haven't decided if these are worth the price tag but happy I bought the set and not just one scent based on a recommendation as scents are so personal.

This trio is being returned as soon as Nordstrom opens tomorrow. I’ve never smelled any perfume like the Black Saffron in my life.. when an earlier reviewer said it smelled like stale cigarettes please believe it! I’ll add with cheap perfume on top of it.. I was underwhelmed by the Mojave Ghost.. The Super Cedar was the best smelling.. but I don’t love it enough to keep it for those horrible accompaniments
