Caldera 6 Trail Running Shoe (Men)

I did the 48km Endurance Kokoda Challenge in these shoes, despite the hard inclines, steep decli es and super sticky mud, my feet were all good and I never lost my footing. Super comfy, wide toe box (I double sock to avoid blisters). Shoelaces just long enough but not too long that they present a trip hazard. They are now doing to be my work shoes, for busy Emergency Nursing shifts you need a shoe thats kind to your feet, knees and back and these are it!

This is my third pair from the Caldera family. The previous two are the newer Caldera 7’s. So obviously I like them. I got the 6 as they we on sale and the newest 8’s don’t seem much different to the 7’s. I am a fast walker rather than a slow runner, currently priming for a 900 kilometre Camino in Spain. Most walls are in the 25 kilometre range, mostly hard surface and usually pushing a cart loaded with 15 kilos of fur family. All the Calderas are Plush, your feet sit in them, just like the rim of a natural volcanic caldera. I like that they are not waterproof, keeping cooler and drying faster. The walking I do does wear the outsole faster, especially pushing the trolley. I have got about 450 to 500 kilometres out of my 7’s before the tread under the ball of my foot is worn through. Pity as the uppers are in excellent condition. Maybe running would be less wearing. I have had no issues with blisters but do invest in quality socks. The 6’s honestly have the same feel as the 7’s and I can’t tell the difference. So for me the 6’s represent excellent value and I would recommend they be snapped up while they are still available.
