Amazing Clean Scent
I love this product! Leaves my hair feeling soft and clean. My hair is a bit oily at the scalp and color treated. brilliant is non-stripping and gentle. Love the scent, not too perfumey. Reminds me of going to the spa, it has a clean, natural, energizing and relaxing scent. Also you only need a small amount to get a lather, so a little goes a long way. Definitely worth the extra money!

Too drying!
This shampoo is too drying for a staple shampoo. I was my hair twice a week, its long, and un-colored for reference. After the third wash with this shampoo my scalp became super dry, tight, and itchy. Furthermore, my hair felt sticky and dirty by the end of the day. Bummer.

changed ingredients
I used to love aveda but my most recent brilliant shampoo had completely different ingredients than my previous ones. Ammonium lauryl sulfate is the second ingredient and lots of the botanical extracts are no longer in the formulation. What bothers me the most is that the aveda website still has the old ingredients listed so I didn’t realize until after I used it and my hair felt rougher and drier. Aveda keeps discontinuing staple products and changing formulas to cheap drugstore worthy quality while continuing to increase the price. Very disappointed and will need to find another brand to support.

Smells Great!
Very gentle shampoo that can be used daily without drying out the hair. I have thin hair and really need to wash my hair daily to achieve a little volume. So far so good.

It works as in the description
So in the first place, I bought a 8.5 oz bottle to see if it works as in the description or not. Since my hair falls out and has a lot of split ends, I did not have any higher expectation for the product. But it does wonder. After three weeks of using Brilliant, I saw a tremendous improvement on my hair. Not only does it give my hair a silky texture ( my hair is very dry), but it also helps prevent my hair from falling out. The smell is fresh and perhaps with a touch of citrus. It is not overpowering and heavy as other shampoos I used. Now I use the 33.8 oz bottle and am very satisfied with it. Great product.

Good shampoo not " Brilliant"!
I had heard great reviews about the scent of this shampoo and how it may the hair shine. Well, after paying $50 for a large bottle, I am somewhat disappointed. Yes, the shampoo works well, but the scent is definitely not " Brilliant". The TIGI Shampoo which I was using has a much better scent( and cost about a third less).
The scent is a combination of mild spice with a mixture of plant infusion, but has an odd rather than a sweet or invigorating scent.
Instead of using this everyday, I am alternating between other shampoos/ body washes. By the way, if I could only use one product, the Angel B hair/ body shampoo has the best scent and is very good for the hair. I only bought this shampoo on the advice of my hairdresser who insisted that Aveda had the best products. Bottom line: good shampoo but definitely fails to be"Brilliant"!
