Bozeman II Mid Winter Boot (Men)

I bought these boots for winter use at our full time residence at 7,700' elevation in the Wasatch mountains of Utah. The primary purpose was for working outside snowblowing or chopping wood, and also taking the dog out. The seamless construction is excellent, and upon unboxing the superior build quality is apparent. The grip on the bottom is substantial, but you will need to "chain up" with traction devices if you are on icy, sloped surfaces (like my driveway). I do not doubt these boots will serve me well for many winters to come. However, I highly doubt these would be comfortable at the rated -40°F, though. They are insulated, but even with thick socks on at times when the temperature dropped I could feel some chill on my toes. That is the only reason I rated four stars. I would rate 4.5 stars if that was an option. I would recommend these boots to anyone needing a durable, waterproof, winter boot for work or casual wear.

My whole family has lived in Bogs snowboots for years, kids passing down boots to their siblings as they outgrew them. My youngest's feet have finally outgrown his older siblings' and he was really excited to get a brand new pair of Bogs for himself! We always wore the Classic, but since that seems to be discontinued, we ordered this boot. It's well-made and no doubt very warm, but the shape has changed considerably. It was far too tight across the ankle and bridge of the foot, unwearable without pain. (The size lengthwise was perfect.) We had to return them. And now we are very sad, because we're going to have to get him some other brand of boots. I hate the change. This boot seems designed to fit flatter feet with very slender ankles.
