surprisingly cute and so comfortable??
I bought these because all the heels I have are not “serious” enough for law school + interviews. Because realistically, even though I think my gianvito rossi platform pumps really pull my outfit together, they are, in fact, 4.5 inch stiletto platform heels. Not exactly the picture of professionalism in more “traditional” workplaces. That and I cannot walk long distances in any of my heels— I’m moving to a city with no car and I don’t want to carry around a second pair of shoes, so that’s a necessity.
I’ve tried on børn shoes but never really was a fan of the styles I saw in person, although I do remember them being comfortable. And I’ve never bought Mary Janes before, so this was a first. They have a reputation for being either very “conservative private school” or “matronly,” so I was a little worried the style might clash with my clothes. Did a little research and found many cute outfits with Mary Janes, so I thought it would be worth a shot.
It was indeed worth it. These are hands down the most comfortable heels I’ve ever worn. Really supportive, I don’t feel like I’m fighting against the possibility of rolling my ankle with every step. I can run in these. I can literally run in them.
In terms of style, they’re surprisingly less “clunky” in appearance than I expected. Goes well with pencil skirts (color permitting, I got black). As for pants, most of my suits have long, wide leg pants that I have to wear heels with or they drag on the ground. These are perfect— nobody can see the buckle or the heel so no need to worry about the style not matching— the toe looks just like any other leather pump.
Sizing: The heel is 3” tall, noticed that wasn’t in the description. I’d say it fits pretty true to size, although it is a little narrow, although I tend to wear shoes that are wider. I usually wear a 7.5 (I wore a size 8 the past 2 years because I gained weight, but I lost weight and went back to my normal size of 7-7.5), the 7.5 fit perfectly fine! There is a little space in the heel, but that’s usually a good thing for heeled shoes. That and if I want to wear socks (instead of pantyhose), there’s some wiggle room.
