Yikes - I usually refrain from writing negative reviews, but hope to save someone from disappointment. Firstly, the backings are silicone (I should have read the details more closely), which are rather cheap looking - like the kind of backs you would typically discard. It's not a very pretty presentation for gift giving. More disappointing, one of the earrings broke in two pieces within an hour of wearing it. On a positive note, the return process was seamless and I always enjoy a trip to Nordstrom. My search for the perfect gold hoop earrings continues . . .
