Solid Ankle Socks

The quality has taken a nose dive. I bought several pairs a few years back directly from Bombas and those pairs look like new. Unfortunately, the pairs I bought from Nordstrom last year are not the same quality. Right away, the threads separated at junction points creating holes (see picture) in all 3 pairs. I’m starting to notice areas are becoming threadbare. The Bombas quality no longer justifies the price.

I bought one pair of these socks and thought they were great. I ordered three more--same style, same size, same color. The three pairs that arrived were not even close to the same quality, feel, fit or appearance as the first pair. The fabric blend, i.e., percentage of cotton and of other materials, on the Nordstrom website description did not match what was on the packaging of the socks. I returned the three right away and exchanged several emails with Bombas customer service. It appears to me that Bombas is capable of making good socks (or maybe I have the only good pair) but quality control is seriously lacking. I will not buy any more Bombas socks.

I am too embarrassed to admit I fell for this purchase. I fell for the ads. Everywhere I looked - Facebook, NYT, CNN - I saw Bombas. Thought it must be something good I am missing out on. I paid $12 for the privilege of one pair of socks that don't deserve to be sold at dollar store. When I received them, they didn't look special. I put them on, they didn't feel special. Throughout the day, nothing special. End of the day I take them off, the trademark honey-comb stitching was unraveling. Maybe I got a specially un-special pair. Maybe it is an embarrassing rip off, for Nordstrom to peddle it, and for me to fall for it.
