Quilted Hooded Jacket

Wow! I was so excited to get this jacket and it lives up to the hype. It’s quilted throughout and lined with a soft worn cotton. It’s meant to be oversized and comfy so the jacket fits oversized. I usually wear a medium am 150 lbs and 5 ft 5 in. I ordered a large and it fit more like an xl normally would. Bottom of jacket stops right at my hips. So it’s not cropped but doesn’t cover my bum at all. The cotton is so soft and feels like a well loved jacket right out of the bag. Could easily layer under with even a chunky sweater on a really cold day.

I should have looked at the name of the color (sweet pea) instead of being swayed by edited photos on social media. This is not a nice neutral olive tone. This is literally the color of pea soup. Aside from the color being unflattering and not versatile, this jacket is also cut in such a way that it’s tremendous even when you size down and lose length. I’m 5’3, about 140lbs, 34c. I usually take a Large, sometimes a Medium. I ordered both sizes in this and I’m swimming in the medium. I don’t think I would enjoy a small, either. I keep looking at it and thinking “Carhartt”, which I guess is fashionable now, but I mean that it literally looks like you took your Dad’s jacket. I’m all for comfort over fashion but this wins no points from me. It does seem decently warm, if that helps.

I saw this jacket in a Nordstrom store while shopping and found the fabric to be really soft, but they only had it in green in a size too large. I went online and saw the tan color, so ordered both a small and x-small to try. When the jackets arrived, I was pretty underwhelmed with the color and fit. Either size would have worked, but the cuffs on the XS were really tight and I preferred the slouchiness of the SM. I’m quite petite (5’0 120 lbs) so the fit of the sleeves and bomber hem were puffy and not super flattering. But it is comfortable and I’ll say the fabric is soft, so if you’re looking for a casual jacket, it might be your thing! But I hate that it has snaps down the front, which are not practical. Overall, I don’t think it’s something I can incorporate into my closet so will be returning.
