Starling Woven Flat (Women)

I wanted to love this shoe, but it didn't love me. The Good: IMO, super cute style. Nice cushioned insole and non-slip sole. The construction and weaving were very good. The Bad: The upper is "faux" leather AKA VYNYL or something similar. It smelled like and performed like vinyl and the color leans toward orange. There is no stretch to this shoe. The Birdies site mentioned there are no wide widths because the shoe stretches to your foot. Not really accurate. There is a slight give but the shoe moves back to its original shape after you take it off and has to be "stretched" again on the next wearing. The Ugly: Due to the weaving, I expected an airy and cool feel but this shoe is hot. The insole is vinyl, and feels "slippery." If your feet tend to sweat this gets more uncomfortable. For the price, I would have expected better materials. The sizing was pretty much true to size, but has a snug fit they just don't stretch for that everyday fit. If I had sized up for a looser more comfortable fit the shoes would have been too long. Returning.
