Great dress, but it really needs alterations!
I was unsure about this dress, but I had a feeling that it was a hidden gem. It needed alterations. At first. when I tried this on at home after ordering during the anniversary sale, I was unimpressed. I actually put the dress back in the box, taped it up, and was ready to hand it back to my post man. I don't know what me have a change of heart, ut something told me that I needed to give this dress a second look. So, I took it back out of the box, tried it on a second time, and realized that with the right alterations, this dress would be a knockout! And guess what? It truly is!! I'm so happy with this one!! It is classic, sexy, hugs where it should, and is ruched where I need some forgiveness. i am a curvy girl- I wear a size 12. This dress makes me feel so sexy!! It is a show stopper in navy! GET THIS DRESS!!

defective
This dress should be cute, but it is defective. There's a bunch of excess material on the top that does not sit or drape properly and you can't adjust it or fix so that it looks nice.

Not quite the right fit
This is a nice looking dress but like some of the other reviewers, when I tried it on the "flattering side ruching" in the description above was not that flattering at all. It's a dress better suited to someone tall, slimmer in the waist and hips, and medium-full busted. I returned it because it just did not look good on me.

Pretty but long
This dress is very pretty. It runs a little long so if you are petite (5'3") like me you won't be able to get away without alternations. I bought a 10. I usually wear inbetween and 8 regular and 10 petite in dresses. This 10 regular was a little snug in the waist. I am glad I didn't buy the petite.

Not for pear shaped ladies!
Seemed to be a well-made dress, but not enough room for me in butt/hips. Plenty of room at waist. Didnt bother to try up a size due to overall cut.

Ruching Looks Unintentional...
I purchased this as a more "fun" work dress. My firm is conservative so I tend to wear a lot of black and gray, but a pop of color every now and then is fine with the right cut. Unfortunately, this dress did not deliver. Once on, the ruching did not fall in the way depicted. Instead, it just looked wrinkly, and baggy. The dress is not very fitted on top, particularly at the shoulders and waist, so if I had kept it, I would need to have it tailored (you can tell that it is too large by the way the back looks in the second photo). I ordered a 2, so there was not a possibility of sizing down. I typically wear a 0, and that probably would have worked better. On the plus side, the shade is lovely, and the ponte material is very comfortable, and thick enough to be acceptable for work or a nice evening out.
