Founded in L.A. in 1995 but inspired by the Brooklyn streets, Bed Stu handcrafts shoes and boots for women and men. The brand uses traditional shoemaking techniques like hand-weaving and hand-sewing, as well as natural leathers (from free-range animals when possible) and a vegetable-based tanning process, so each shoe is unique and imperfect but always genuine.

Great boot, but not for me
Really cute boot and well made. I returned for 2 reasons: I followed the guidance of others to size up and that was a mistake. They were too big. Secondly, because I'm 5'2" they are about an inch and a half too tall for an ankle boot on me. They cut into my leg and make it look shorter than it is. The upper part of the leather is thinner, but the rest of the boot is pretty thick and solid.

These boots are beautiful and the leather is solid and pliable. I have a painful bunion; I’ve been wearing the boots a lot to stretch the area over it. I added an arch insert. Now they are beautiful AND comfortable. Excellent product.

Stylish and rugged, comfortable out of the box. Kept my feet warm on a very cold day. Love the color , slightly, purposely, “scuffed” with hints of red on the seams. Happy that I splurged!
