Ready or Yacht Maxi Dress

I tried this dress on in store I white and punch, which is a bright orangey red. I liked both and purchased the punch even though I wanted a white dress. Both are slightly see through but the punch is slightly better. With nude Chantelle smoothing briefs underneath it looks fine. This would have been okay with the white but a slip would look better. I’ll be wearing this in hot weather so I didn’t want to add a slip. The white dress should have had a nude lining. I am 5’5, 133 lbs, 35x28x38, and typically wear a size small/6/28, and the small fit well. The straps are adjustable. I liked the feminine strap details and the tiny buttons down the entire front. The stretch panel on the back makes the dress fit well and I can move even though the top is fitted. I can wear a flat sandal or small wedge without needing it hemmed. I have it 4 stars because the material quality could have been better and a slit would have been cute. Price is appropriate, but I would have paid more for better quality.

This is the same review I gave for: BB Dakota by Steve Madden Grooves Sleeveless Maxi Dress, because I have the exact same issue. I have come to believe that Steve Madden's Brand believes, that women no longer have breasts. The only difference between the inappropriate fit of this dress versus the other SM dress I reviewed, is this one is only smocked in the back and not all around but as you'll read below, that is not the problem. I purchased a size Medium in the other dress but a size small in this. The small actually fits really, really well, everywhere except in the chest. Both of these dresses are cut in a way that makes it impossible for anyone with anything greater than, small B cup breasts to wear them. This dress is a dream. An absolutely, heartbreakingly, disappointing dream, inwhich one's body has to be disproportional to itself to fit into this dress. I purchased "PUNCH" in my size, according to Steve Madden's size chart - S. I have natural 38D cup breasts and I would literally have to chop them in half, or bind them down, to get even remotely close to fitting them into this dress; bra-less or not . The empire waisted smocked top half of the dress shouldn't matter for band size and it doesn't, so the 38 part of my size is fine there. It's just my breasts (the average breast) are too wide / round for this, but the pictures make it appear that there is sufficient room and does not at all make it appear that it is secretly constructed for those who have smaller chests. If you have an average body type that typically fits clothes right off the rack (like mine does)but don't also have B cup breasts or less, this is NOT an appropriate fit. I would literally have to go down 2 bra sizes for this to dress to fit me at the top. I am dismayed because I love the color and the idea of this dress and I'm giving this review, so no one else has to experience the same level of disappointment.

I absolutely LOVE the color of this dress once it arrived. The color looks amazing on melanated skin! My only issue is the top part of the dress. Its slightly baggy at my underarms, even when tried on with a strapless bra and I normally wear a 12 in dresses and am 36C in a brassiere. I feel a medium may be too snug with a bra, but the darn thing is too pretty to return. The length is perfect. I'm 5'7-5'8 and it just barely skims the ground without wearing shoes. Guess we'll have to see what happens once washed.
