BB Dakota x Steve Madden Hampton Embroidered Prairie Dress

I’m surprised by some of the other reviews on this dress - I love it! I didn’t realize it had the subtle floral embroidery until I tried it on, which I think makes it more special. It has a great neckline and a comfortable sleeve without excessive volume which I appreciate. I also didn’t have an issue with the length as long as I wore it with a heel (for reference I’m 5’4” and wearing an XL).

I was so excited when I received this dress in person. I opened the box and instantly fell in love with the detailed embroidery. I also liked the full liner, but it made the dress a bit heavy. I think the quality justified the price point, but unfortunately this dress is too long for me in both the torso area and the length of the skirt. I thought about having it hemmed, but I don’t think it’s worth the hassle. For reference I ordered the XS and I’m 5’ and 105 lbs.

Had I been able to see this dress in person I would have passed. The material has a sheen to it that makes it look like a garbage bag. The liner oddly enough feels like a garbage bag or a rain repellent material and makes a “swoosh” sound if you move. I ordered the XL being a size 14/16 and I definitely could’ve size down. Then neck I could pull up a good 3 inches. The sleeves hit my arm a few inches below my elbow and the elastic around the bottom was nowhere near fitted and I could not keep them up like in the picture, it just looked very messy. I got it on the anniversary price and still not worth it. I like the concept of a smocked waist and hope for more options in the future.
