Perfect Purchase!
I love my Barbour mini umbrella. This was a special treat to myself. The tartan plaid and handle are lovely. It is practical and works effortlessly. There is a difference in the quality of various umbrellas. This is an all-around perfect umbrella!

Best thing next to Waxed Cotton
Tartan is demanding to bring into a polyester umbrella: for one thing the panels need be staggered or the view from the top will be a large bullseye beneath all the birds flying overhead; also, the pattern should not mimic the weave of of wool or cotton if printed on, or it will look fake. This black watch Barbour scores in both categories, and I peeked before my birthday to be sure not to return it. The pattern is the pattern appropriate to be printed on or dyed in the fabric, and to date it has been sunny skies above. The wooden handle is small luxury and the weight of the spokes, though light, are reinforced to withstand breakage when bent back of a spring or summer rainstorm. These people know what they're doing to design for the most extreme conditions.

Lightweight but never flimsy
Light & sturdy. Always well made Barbour brand. The plaid is a fun design.

I received this as a gift and had high hopes! It's tiny (yes travel size but even smaller than expecting). It does not automatically open you have to use both hands, wasn't helpful when it's raining and both hands were full. Bummer since it's darling.

Gorgeous Plaid
Love this little umbrella. The wooden handle is pretty and feels nice in hand. The brown plaid is really stunning and different from most umbrellas. Note the 43 inch measurement covers the whole top of the umbrella including arc. The diameter is closer to 38 in. For that reason, it was too small for my needs and we had to return it.
