Indie Wool Blend Peacoat

I first started wearing Barbour men’s waxed jackets before they even had a women’s line, and I have to say that the women’s sizing is all over the place. I ordered a US 14 in this coat, which is a UK 18, because I am 5’10” and I usually need room in the arms and shoulders, but it was comically large. Fortunately, it was shipped to a store near me and I was able to try it on and return it in a matter of minutes. For comparison, I went into the coat department and tried on a size 14 Barbour quilted Calvary jacket and could barely zip it. With Barbour’s wildly inconsistent sizing between styles, you just never know what you’re going to get. I also didn’t think the wool was very nice – scratchy and stiff. I didn’t like the coat enough to re-order it in a smaller size. And for that price – no way.
