Super stylish, but not practcal
This is a very stylish coat, but it is a “tweener”—too heavy to wear indoors as a blazer, but not warm enough as a winter jacket. Also, I thought it was black, but it is classified as deep navy.
It is very flashy with the gold buttons, and when I tried it on in the store, complete strangers stopped and admired it. I actually bought it, but returned it a couple of days later because I knew I would not get very much wear out of it, and for $500, I could not justify it.
For a size reference, I am 5’10” and 175 pounds, and I bought a US 14 (UK18)—the largest size. It was extremely snug and fitted, but that was the style. I had also ordered a black Barbour peacoat online in a size 14, and it was HUGE —an immediate return. Barbour’s sizing varies wildly among their styles. You cannot predict from one style to another whether your usual size will fit. I also don’t think the wool feels very nice on this – just like the black peacoat, it is very heavy and thick. Not soft at all. Once again – it is a very eye-catching coat, but for me, it was not practical.

Navy so dark its nearly black
Gorgeous quality jacket, perfect for fall or spring, very flattering, fitted cut, runs very TTS & not stretchy so not forgiving. Def size up if you have a bust >34C. Everything about it is perfect IMHO except I still unsure about the color—it truly translates as black at night/in dim light & even during the day unless it’s next to something black it looks black. Darker than any other navy coat or jacket I own by a lot & that bugs me so not sure if I’ll keep it
