Croxdale Waxed Cotton Jacket

Sadly this jacket lacked the typical Barbour quality. As a long time Barbour wearer I was excited to find (what I thought would be) a shorter more modern version of my beloved Bedale. Alas, it was not much shorter, but much lighter, and unlined. Was considering if I could make it work as a lighter weight version of my beloved jacket - but the waxed cotton keeps it too heavy. Will be sending back.

The quality is not akin to typical Barbour. Unlike what the description states, it does not have a tartan lining. It’s not very cropped & it runs very very large. The jacket was stiffer than other waxed Barbours I own and not up to the standards of the classics.

I ordered a 10 at the sale. Way too big. Unfortunately, all smaller sizes were sold out. Finally found an 8. Still too big, but I’m keeping it because I have waited months and no 6 has shown up. The coat is more light weight than it appears. But it’s a nice material and color. Great over a sweater for fall. Normally an 8 would be too small.

Was lucky to get this during Anniversary sale. Has a real modern feel. Can’t wait to wear it over sweaters or a hoodie during the fall!

I love this shorter fit. It’s not going to work for a walk in a downpour but without a hood it isn’t right for that anyway

This jacket is lovely. Surprisingly warm. The boxy cut is flattering. I wear it over lightweight sweaters/sweatshirts and have paired it with jeans and leggings. Very versatile with a timeless look. Definitely runs a bit big but so worth it if you can find your size.
