BEST EVER!
This fragrance is very personal. How you experience it, depends upon your skin and your nose. I do go anosmic, "noseblind" to it, on my skin. But, other people definitely still smell it, when I think it's gone. I get compliments all day. I bought it blind, because I like all the notes. Luckily I love the perfume. But, it's a pricey blind buy.
What does it smell like? Well, like nothing I've ever smelledI(except the subsequent dupes and clones). To me, it's sweet, but not cloying. Spicy, but not overpowering. I find it warm and comforting, like I want to wear it, in Autumn. Though, it is light enough for year round wear. On first sniff, I fell in love. I haven't been this enchanted with a fragrance, in YEARS.
As far as the Extrait, that one is not my thing. Its not bad. But the almond note is just too sweet, for me. Contrary to belief, it is not, "stronger" or longer lasting. It wears very close to the skin. It doesn't project like the EDP does. It is a deeper, richer scent. Versus the EDP, which more transparent. Perhaps that is why some people think it is strong/better. Totally a personal choice. Sample both, before you buy. Which brings me full circle, to the beginning of my review--This fragrance is personal. I don't know anyone who doesn't like it. But, everyone has a different experience, with it. I LOVE it. Some of my friends LIKE it. Some of my friends just think, MEH, IT'S OKAY. But, no one I know flat out doesn't like it.

Not what it used to be
The first time I smelled Baccarat Rouge, I was completely blown away by its complexity, and especially by its very long lasting sillage. I ordered a sample, and savored it to the last drop, while saving my pennies to buy a bottle. From that little sample, I could smell the gorgeous scent on my pillowcases and clothing for weeks. Finally, I purchased a bottle. To my dismay, what I received was very weak, and did not last on my skin for even an hour. I returned the bottle, and thinking it was a fluke incident, I ordered another bottle only to have the same experience. I was crushed. I have since smelled other bottles of Baccarat, and have noticed the same thing. I would gladly pay the hefty price to have the indulgent perfume it once was, but do not be fooled. It IS NOT THE SAME. Most certainly not worth the exorbitant cost.

get the extrait version of 540 instead
You have to get the Extrait version
with the red box and red label , it comes in travel too, much longer lasting, worth the extra money and you’re spending a lot anyway, I got the wrong one the first time I wore this and blew threw it until a friend told me when I asked her how come mine doesn’t last as long as hers, this version is same scent but way lighter, worlds difference in my opinion

too many people
I keep reading reviews about not being able to smell it and it smelling like alcohol. They are making too many batches. This is what happens when everyone tells everyone what fragrance they are wearing. It’s being massed produced and as a result of it, you get bad batches. Shut your mouth and stop telling people about your fabulous MFK fragrance. Got everyone smelling alike. It’s not even exclusive anymore and has lost its pizazz!

I am disappointed
I already own Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum 6.8oz and also Baccarat Rouge 540 oil and I love them both, so I decided to purchase this travel-sized fragrance. I am so disappointed and surprised. This fragrance is so weak and all you can smell is alcohol. I do not know what else to say????
