Chevron Stripe Joggers

I ordered these in charcoal with the neon rainbow stripe, size medium. They were incredibly soft and the stripe colors were super vibrant, overall seemed like great quality. But when I tried them on I was quite surprised at how low the rise was - an inch or two below my belly button. That would certainly look cute on plenty of people, but I didn't like the muffin top effect it gave me. Plus I usually prefer to wear joggers at my natural waist and pair with a cropped shirt - no way that was happening with these. For reference I'm about 5' 8.5" with a 29" waist and 40" hip. In most other brands of sweatpants I wear a medium or often times even a small. I would have liked to try a L or XL to see if the fit was better, but they were all sold out so I just returned them. Also just to note - I also ordered the charcoal lightning bolt crewneck sweatshirt that had the same rainbow stripe on the sleeve. It was also great quality and SO soft, but it struck me that the charcoal was not quite the same shade as the charcoal pants, even though I presume they were meant to be a matching set. They were close, but just slightly off enough to be noticeable (and that drives me nuts).
