What it is: A tonic that defines and enhances hair's natural texture and creates piecey definition that looks effortlessly undone.
Who it's for: Salt—magnesium sulfate—helps contract and compress hair, instantly creating piecey, defined texture. Cane sugar is a natural humectant that helps provide a soft, touchable texture infused with natural shine. The ingredient babassu helps create effortless texture. How to use: Use on dry or damp hair, applying from mid-lengths to ends. Let air dry or blow dry.

I really like this product. I use it in conjunction with Aveda's phomollient™ Styling Foam and volumizing tonic™. That combination adds really nice volume and controllability to my fine, slightly wavy hair without getting sticky and/or stringy as the day goes on.

Scented water

Not for me
This product did not work for me. I have long, naturally wavy hair. I used several times before posting a review. It was used exactly as directed. My shampoo and conditioner are Aveda also just to make sure no one thinks that's why it didn't work. My hair looked like it always does when I air dry and the product makes it feel gross. I do no recommend this product.

It Does The Job
I like this product. I've sprayed my hair and braided it, when I take it out the texture stays. The smell surprised me, it's really strong. The scent lasts as do the textural effects.

I received this product as a larger sized sample and loved that it adds volume to my fine but thick medium length hair. I spray it into my roots right before blow drying and I notice the difference in that it gives my hair some extra “oomph” and it’s easier to style. Purchased another bottle.

Tricky One
I have very curly hair and will try anything to help reduce frizz and hold the structure of my curls. I like this product but it took some trial and error to get right. This does not spray in a light mist like it should. I found it best to spray into my hands to distribute into my hair. When I sprayed it directly it felt like I blasted hairspray. It’s little firm, almost crunchy, if applied to heavily. Go lightly and it gives great results. This is VERY much the Aveda scent. Some products are much more subtle. If you don’t love the Aveda scent you might want to stay away from this. My husband HATES it unfortunately.
