shampure^™ Vegan Soy Wax Candle

I am absolutely obsessed with this fragrance, and would repurchase this candle if it didn’t have horrible tunneling. This is a waste, especially considering the cost. You’ll be lucky to get 10 hours of burn time. Aveda used to offer refills but have discontinued that practice. Please save your money… There are so many other better quality candles out there.

I LOVED this candle when I first purchased it and I even bought one for my sister. However, after burning it a handle of times, now it just smells like burnt. The wick became a huge ball of black and it is not a pleasant aroma at all anymore. I guess I expected it to last longer than a few uses.

Aroma is great, tunneling is not. Need to put tin foil around the candle to try and correct tunneling but it isn't working well. This was a splurge item for myself and I am very disappointed. When candle first arrived appeared some wax had flaked on the sides. Didn't look the best but didn't think it was an issue. I have used Aveda products for years and have only owned 3 other candles because of the price. Truly sad over this.

The fragrance of this candle is stellar. That is where the praise ends. It is completely over-priced, and despite following best practices (trimming the wick, letting the initial burn pool the wax across the surface for several hours, etc.), this candle still tunneled quite badly. A hack I found online: wrap aluminum foil around the top while it's burning to safely melt the tunneled wax back down. The Shampure candles used to be the highest quality (and Aveda used to offer refills that were reasonably priced), but this version is not worth the money or the time, unfortunately.
