What it does: The plant-derived formula helps reduce color fade, while omega-rich apricot oil leaves hair nourished and, in combination with bio-fermented arginine, helps provide a radiant shine. A combination of botanicals helps to protect color-treated hair while leaving it silky, soft and shiny. It is precisely formulated for lasting, radiant color, wash after wash. Naturally derived magnets instantly neutralize color-dulling particles to help protect your hair when you wash. Dual-charged molecules create a protective shield to keep water from penetrating into hair, reducing color washout. Apricot and bio-fermented arginine work together to nourish, smooth and seal the cuticle, helping to lock in beautiful color with radiant shine. The shampoo features Aveda's own Pure-Fume aroma with osmanthus, certified organic orange, cypress, cedarwood and otherpure flower and plant essences.
How to use: Massage the shampoo into wet hair, from roots to ends. Rinse. Follow with the Color Control Conditioner (sold separately).

My new favorite shampoo!!
I use several aveda shampoos and had received this item as a gift. My hair has never looked so good!! After drying my hair, the volume and shine has been incredible! I am now buying the large litre size.

Not the same product
I have tried both the light and rich color conserve and neither worked. The rich color conserve made my hair look very greasy. I have used color conserve shampoo for over 15 years and loved the product. However I do not know what you have done with the updated product but you no longer have a customer in me for your shampoo.

Wouldn't buy.
I have used colour conserve shampoo for years and it's now discontinued ?! Why? You still do conditioner but the colour control shampoo is just not the same. My hair just doesn't feel clean. It's thick and leaves residue in my hair. Bring back Colour conserve please!

I loved colour conserve, my hair was glossy and silky. With this my hair looks and feels like straw and my scalp is itchy and hot. Because I need delivery I always buy the 1lt which I'm stuck with and just can't use.

Meant for African American hair
Color Control has taken the place of Color Conserve but is geared towards African American hair as most of the new products are. It is so hard to wash out of my hair that it feels like co-washing - dull and limp when towel drying. I have used Color Conserve for decades and Aveda even longer but no more. Also I had over 110,000 points in the Aveda program and was at the highest tier but suddenly Aveda started a NEW rewards program and my tier points were deleted! I am back Tier 1 now. I was planning to visit the UK with my daughter but Covid hit and everything shut down. Now all of my points are lost. That was a lot of money I spent over the years. I am so disappointed and going with Lolavie, Living Proof and Keratin Complex now.

Bring Back the Color Conserve
I agree with everyone else here, this product is a step down from the color conserve line but at a higher price. And the scent is awful. Please bring back the old product.

Really would like my old shampoo back!
I miss color conserve! How disappointing that I have now had to go try several other color preserving brands because my old shampoo was replaced with something that does not work well at all! Bring back Color Conserve shampoo already! Please!!
