This is a very flattering top when you first put it on. A few things make it not worth 5 stars, though: the fabric is VERY lightweight, which means that it's prone to stretching a lot. And, sure enough, after just one wear, it's lost a lot of it's shape. So, this means that washing is going to be necessary after EVERY wear, which is just going to wear down this (very lightweight) shirt quicker than it should, given the price tag. Also, the slit on the side is pretty high, which I feel kind of takes away from the classic cut of this shirt and something that I don't particularly like. And, due to the nature of the fabric, this shirt is pretty sheer, which is SO ANNOYING in a light colored top. So, I mean, I like this top. I don't love this top.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For such a simple T, I’ve received so many compliments on this shirt. The ruching adds a lovely touch and makes it feel like it can be dressed up or down. My teen daughter also loves to wear it. It seems to me that like with many Madewell tops, it is made for the shorter waisted. As I have a long torso, I have to wear a tank under it, but it’s worth it since it’s such a cute piece.

Cute but …
I liked the design/look of the crew cut but something about this cut made it feel like it was choking too close around the neck. Returned for a next size up to see if it helped.
