Great shorts once you find the correct size!
I am usually a 0 or xxs in this brand. I sized up to a 4 in the color black to get the best fit. While the size 2 fit, the 4 was a looser more flattering fit.
Yes they are eyelete and you can see your skin through them. It's an easy solve by wearing black underwear under the black shorts.

Size up a LOT
I'm always a size 4, but this one I sized up to a 10. If you google these shorts, you can see how they're supposed to look in your correct size (a bit like underwear imo)
Sizing up a lot will make them look like the model on the Nordstrom website, which is what I prefer. They are comfortable and breezy and sit around my hips.
And as others have mentioned, they are an eyelet material, so see through in a lot of places. I would only wear these with black underwear.

Runs small, but cute and unique
I usually wear a medium size 8-10 in Doen but ended up settling on size 14 because I couldn't zip the size 12! Pretty sure my hips aren't huge. These are thin and almost delicate but I don't think I have ever owned such pretty shorts like these so I am pairing it with the cute gingham top on the model which I got in medium. I don't know how Doen makes things that feel delicate, feminine, and casual all at the same time.
