Marcella Weatherproof Leather Flat (Women)

These shoes are not what I expect from an Aquatalia shoe. I know the company was sold, but the new owners have failed to maintain the style and comfort Aquatalia fans are used to. The leather, if you could call it that, was thin, rough and uncomfortable. The top edges cut into my foot. The padding was minimal. And, as we Aquatalia groupies know, the fact that the shoes and boots are waterproof is a big draw. These are not. I hope the new company gets the message loud and clear that this product is very inferior.

I had to go up from my normal 39 to a 40 in this style due to the toe box. Not unusual for me. I wore these beautifully looking flats for 5 hours and was initially happy. Then reality set in after about 1 hour. The heels have no give and the stiffness of the patent leather started to cut into the achilles part of my heel foot. I was even wearing peds with cushions in this area. The cuts were bad enough that I needed to wear open back shoes for the next 2 weeks. I own 5 pair of aqualtalia, all of the boot/bootie style and this was my first foray into a shoe style. They were a lovely shoe but not anywhere near as comfortable as I was expecting
