What it does: This glossy gel-balm melts into a silky cleansing oil, effortlessly dissolving makeup and impurities. As it cleanses, evening primrose oil and a hyaluronic acid derivative deeply hydrate for a plumped, glass-skin glow. Cocoa butter locks in moisture, while malachite and cornflower detoxify and soothe.
Key ingredients:
- Rinse-proof hyaluronic acid: adheres to the skin by an ionic process so that it doesn’t easily rinse away, enriching the skin with water for a dewy, plump look
- Malachite: deep green gemstone rich in copper, may help to detoxify and balance the skin. Associated with the metaphysical properties of transformation and protection

Worst skincare purchase of the year
Objectively terrible packaging and something is wrong with the formula.
The first two times I used this, I was impressed. It was similar to the Elemis balm in texture and emulsion, but without the bulky packaging and the unhygienic pot.
After two uses, something in the pump is no longer dispensing the product as it just brings up watery spurts, and some pumps bring nothing at all. I won’t even be able to extract the product and decant it into a less terrible container with the way the bottle is designed. Such a disappointment from an otherwise fantastic brand.

Not great
I started using this in summer so I think the product melted. It's just a blue liquid, no trace of balm. I do shake it vigorously each time I use it so I hope it's not just separated.
The scent is a bit soapy, not great but not bad.
I massage the oil all over my dry face, add a little water to emulsify, then rinse off with lukewarm water. It leaves a greasy feeling so I follow up with an exfoliating cleanser and my skin feels clean afterwards.
It does seem to work at removing all makeup.
The biggest issue I have with this is the pump. It's just really hard to press the pump down fully. So I'm using all my strength to use one hand and getting some half pumped sqiirts, and the watery oil is running all down my other hand.
The bottle looks nice and the rounded bottom looks elegant, but it really reduces the base and makes it fall over easily.
Not the best cleanser I've used.

Avoid - flawed product
Had high hopes for this but unfortunately it does not deliver. It had separated in the tube into blue gunk and oil - apparently this is a common fault with this product. Very disappointed but the girls at Space said this is a common complaint with this product and they have had several returns. It makes it completely unusable.

Just clear oil with bits of blue
At first when I pumped this I got only clear oil that was impossible to rinse off my face. I shook vigorously, and now there are some blue specks mixed in that don’t improve the texture. I gave it a shot based on a recommendation, but this is worse than just sleeping in your makeup.

Nicest Sunday Riley Cleanser
The Sunday Riley Aquamarine Cleanser is a really nice gel cleanser that leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, and refreshed without any tightness. It’s gentle and effective for daily use, and my skin looks calm and balanced after washing. That said, I personally prefer a cleansing balm—the rich texture and massage feel more like a spa experience to me. Still a great cleanser, just not my favorite format.
