Anjali Metallic Embroidered Anarkali with Dupatta

I purchased this in cobalt and the anarkali itself was in that perfect zone of heavy enough to know it was quality, but light enough that it wasn't uncomfortable to maneuver and dance. As a toddler mom, I prefer clothes that won't be itchy against their skin if I end up holding them and love when there is no risk of anything popping out if they yank and pull on me. This worked for both! It was true to the size guide/my typical dress size. I'm 5'8 and I wore it with flat sandals, and I think someone 5'9 could easily wear with flats too. Positives: pre-pleated dupatta with the shoulder clip to keep it in place, no bra cups, substantial and sturdy back zipper. Negatives: no pockets.

Loved this dress so much. The material felt heavy but not in a way that constrained movement - in a way that made it clear it was really high quality. The beads and embroidery were stunning and the cobalt color was really eye-catching. I had my 5-year-old with me and as you can see from the photo, she felt very comfortable snuggling right up to me. The attached dupatta hung beautifully and the shoulder clip was a nice touch to keep it in place. Also, the dress was ready to wear straight out of the bag. I wore tall heels and at 5'6 it hung at just the right length. I wore this to a wedding in the US and received a ton of compliments. Also appreciate that this company is led by South Asian women. One of my most favorite dresses I've ever worn!

I purchased both this and the Naya Gharara and I honestly can't pick my favorite of the two! Love the darker green color and the quality of the fabric and embroidery. I felt like it was true to size, I purchased a medium (in both this and the gharara) and I am 5'6 and 145lbs. Also, all the aunties complimented this look (which was the first that has ever happened) so obviously I'll have to wear on rotation to get their occasional approval!!
