These are heavy, platform lug soles, but are still very comfortable. Like most CLs, they run slightly small. I am a US 8, but usually a 38.5 in CL without socks. The 38.5 in these fit me perfectly. My only gripe is that I thought I was buying a black loafer, and these are gunmetal gray. They have a painted gray metallic sheen all over them, which on the shoes I ordered was irregular and splotchy, and so the two shoes in the pair looked very different. I'm not happy spending this much on shoes that aren't really what I was looking for, so I will be returning them. I wish these came in a pure black.
