Alondra Slingback Sandal

I love having a pair of neutral sandals with some height and these were the ones for me in gold. I did have to exchange and go down a full size. I am usually a size 8 and found these quite large in length so returned for size 7. I think that I will have a lot of use for these as a daily sandal and dressy enough for night time dinners

Love them but wow are they squeaky when you walk on a non-carpeted surface. Everyone in the room looks at your feet to identify the LOUD squeaking noise. If you don’t mind the noise…great platform sandal.

These sandals were attractive but oh so very heavy, so I didn’t keep them.

They are comfortable. However, the left shoe squeaks.

I received these sandals in Black today add my door step. The Good: These are perfect platform sandals for a size 7. They are perfect for walking at the fair, the horse races, airports, European vacations or around town with the. Ice think sole and wonderful arc support especially if you are trying to avoid getting Morton’s Neuroma (painful nerve bundle under bottom of foot from where shoes with small toe box like heels.) very comfortable for lots of walking. Bad: every step I take it is like. Flip flop noise. The heel of the sandal flips up and makes the flip flop sound. I tightened the buckle and it didn’t stop the flip flop noise. That can be embarrassing at church, work, a wedding, birding a plane when it’s quiet and your shoes are making this noise. I think it is from the elastic on the sides that attaches the top and the heel strap. Since it’s elastic it has “give” which we like. A solution to these noisy shoes is easy for the designer to do- just put a fabric on the heel. Then when the heel hits the shoe bed with each step, it will not hit the plastic or leather and insides a soundproof soft fabric. Can’t believe the testing did not reveal this defect. As a result, I am questioning returning the otherwise perfect sandal. I will be like the episode from “Cheers” where the mailman buys everyone new shoes and they all make nose with each step. It’s the exact same with these sandals. It’s terrible, because otherwise perfect.

I’m also a first time Vionic buyer. To my surprise, it is more comfortable than expected. Personally, I think it is true to size for the boost/support soles, however, the top front straps seems to be slightly loose; therefore it feels like it is larger than it actually is. Bottom line is, I love it. I’m usually a size 7 and bought a 7 in Black.
