Customer service was excellent; nice to have return label in case it's needed. I returned in person. Again, excellent service. I had followed suggestion to go half size smaller but was not necessary so I needed smaller size. Shoes have classic style and are very nice. Unfortunately I was wrong about one thing; higher price does not necessarily buy comfort; the shoes are very hard. My son has not been able to wear them for more than a couple of hours a day. He actually got blisters in the back of his feet. I rubbed the back with wax and that has helped, but after about 6 times, he is still not able to wear them for the whole day. I just hope it will get better

In July 2013, I purchased several pairs of Allen Edmonds from Nordstrom. One of the pairs was the McAllister Oxfords. For the first six months or so of owning the shoes, I wore them only on special occasions. But thereafter, I decided to wear them with more frequency. A few weeks ago, when I arrived at work, I was disappointed to find that the sole on the heel of the right shoe had fallen off. I found it lying on the floor under my desk. Obviously, this is not something one would expect from a $300 pair of shoes. Weeks later, the sole on the heel of the left shoe would suffer the same fate. I am now left with a sole-less pair of shoes. The funny thing is, my old $100 pair of dress shoes remain in great condition, despite countless hours of wear and tear. Do yourself a favor and avoid wasting your money on these shoes...
