High & stiff at the ankles
This is a beautiful pair of shoe. They look great on my feet. However, the back of the shoe is high and the stiff leather DIGS into the bones around my ankle, so it is very painful to walk with this pair of shoes. Other dress shoes that I have bought recently have a lower back of the shoe, so that the leather doesn't dig into the bones around my ankle. Another brand of dress shoe that I just bought even has a soft padding around the back around my Achilles heel, so that the shoe is comfortable to walk in.

Solid shoe
I love everything about this shoe. Looks great with a suit or jeans. It does seem to be taking a long time to break in so that’s why 4 stars. My left foot is a little smaller than my right yet the left shoe feels a little tighter. Any suggestions? I still haven’t worn them outside, I bring them to the office and wear them there. Some days they feel good and other days that left foot is snug.

Great shoes that should not be discontinued
Why did Allen Edmonds discontinue these shoes. They have been an iconic classic for over 25 years. It is a shame. Please bring them back!!!!

High quarters hitting ankle bones
I will echo another review noticing high quarters. This issue has been persistent over the past five years, maybe longer. The quarters have been "rising" and thus hitting the ankle bones. The shoe construction of the Leeds is solid, and 511 last is one of the most comfortable lasts there is. Unfortunately, the shoe has become unwearable due to the issue of high quarters. I would love to own a pair of Leeds, but I do not keep my hopes up high. The same situation happened with 65 last. I tried purchasing some shoes in recent years, but had no luck. Previous time I purchased 65 last (Park Avenue and Strandmock) was around the 2015-2016 time frame. The quarters on those were at the perfect height. I still enjoy wearing those two pairs. Hopefully AE will consider adjusting the height of the quarters.

I cannot believe that Allen Edmonds discontinued these iconic shoes. Bring them back. They are phenomenal shoes. I’ve bought several pairs.
