Insole/Footbed problem
The leather insole and/or the cork filling under the insole have a manufacturing or design error. It could be that they are not thick enough to provide enough cushion and conform to the foot properly (I have worn them about 30 hours total). I have included a picture of the problem - I can feel the raised lumpy area of the insole where the heel and arch meet. For the price of these boots this issue seems unacceptable. Everything else about the boots is great, fit, leather quality, outsole, style.

Good through review
First above all I say buy more AE. Let's support them. I have a pair of Rachelle Swiss mountain boots from the 70's. Way thicker outer/inner. With insulation. 3 tongues. Last month I bought a red wing from China. 300's. Thicker outer and a cloth inner with insulation. These Allen are a bit thinner outer and inner with no insulation and the sole is not the vibram sole but very nice and comfortable and more dressy than work. Buuut over all I say 4.5 and I really like them but remember it's 2025. We can only wish thing were like my 1970's Rachelle boots. But for 2025 4.5 I am buying AE as often as I can. Greatest shoes on earth good fit. I wish they had H. After eee
