'Cavanaugh' Penny Loafer

I love these shoes very much, they look real well and also wear well I love this shoe brand they are the best and I would be buying more of this brand

Store service was excellent, clerk was helpful, knowledgeable, and eager to be of service without being pushy. the shoes were ordered and arrived when promised. i have on occasion shopped Nordstrom's previously and this experience reaffirmed my opinion that your store not only carries excellent merchandise but is customer and service oriented. As for the shoes themselves, they are excellent. I have two other pair of Allen Edmond shoes and the last fits my foot well, getting more comfortable with each wearing. This is my exclusive brand of dress shoes for the foreseeable future.

I recently purchased from Nordstrom’s a very reasonably priced pair of Allen Edmonds Cavanaugh Penny Loafers in a walnut color. The Cavanaugh is made in America by handsewn construction and lined with premium calfskin, a leather that is not only soft and supple, but also, durable. To me the shoes provide a roomier feel because the toe box is made to be slightly larger than normal. That is an important feature because, according to the company, the Allen Edmonds form used in this model is the "114" shoe last which is used to shape the shoe during manufacture. This shoe last provides a semi-round toe construction and makes the fit fuller across the ball of the foot. In fact, when I looked at the stitching around the top front of these shoes and compared them with my other loafers from other companies I could see that the pattern was wider and the area around the sides of the foot is flatter and higher. I felt that this gave me more room for my foot. This is not to say that there may not be a “breaking in” period for some. All I can advise is simply, “Walk on, you’ll be pleasantly surprised”. In addition, because these Allen Edmond shoes are handsewn, anyone who wishes to extend the life of these shoes can have them “recrafted” (a term used by Allen Edmonds) by the company to have them restored or repaired. The Allen Edmonds Cavanaugh Penny Loafers are comfortable enough to wear all day. The walnut color is a rich, eye-catching one. The shoes may be worn with casual or dress trousers. The walnut color has a slight burnished appearance so the shoes look first-rate with either dark blue or black dress trousers. This was an excellent buy for me (at about a 35% savings). Moreover, at the time of my purchase Nordstrom was running a sale on their Nordstrom’s cedar shoe trees, which Nordstrom tells its shoppers is also made in America. I immediately perceived the meeting of marketing forces and added a pair of Nordstrom’s cedar shoe trees to my purchase. I now have five pairs of these cedar shoe trees. I placed my order by telephone since I prefer to speak directly with a Nordstrom representative, who will gladly answer questions. The Nordstrom service on the order was excellent. The delivery, as usual, was prompt and the items were packed well. The shoe trees were a perfect match with the Allan Edmonds Cavanaugh shoes. I have previously purchased shoes from Nordstrom’s and this very satisfied customer anticipates future purchases, especially if Nordstrom continues to run similar sales. I can confidently say that both these purchases were simply a “match made in America”. For anyone who wants a quality shoe, I would highly recommend the Allen Edmonds Cavanaugh Penny Loafers to current and future customers. ~ NConsumer1A

I have good experiences with Edmonds shoes, which I bought over the years, in yor shp too, But this modell I did not like atall; the leather was for me much too strong and heavy.I prefer soft leather.

I went to Nordstrom to try on some Allen Edmond shoes as I had been eyeing them for the past 2-3 months. Since they didn't have the shoes I liked in stock, they ordered them for me and shipped them to my house. Within a week, the shoes were at my doorstep! The shoes look great with my slacks and jeans which is nice when going to work and/or a casual dinner. They can work with both. Even though the price can be a little steep for shoes, I wouldn't hesitate to buy these shoes again knowing what I know now. They are comfortable and feel like a million bucks when I wear them.
