While in Cornwall, England, Sarah Burton and her design team visited a cloutie or wishing tree, where for centuries people had tied rags and strips of cloth as wishes and mementos. That sacred place served as the inspiration for this midi skirt, which is woven in a bright rainbow tweed resembling the tree's colorful offerings. Individual threads are deliberately cut loose throughout and at the hem to create a raw, frayed finish.
