Alexander McQueen 'Skull' Chiffon Scarf

I have this scarf in 4 colors and absolutely love them. My favorites are Aubergine, Black, and Ivory. I've been looking for a backup Aubergine, but can't seem to find it anywhere. If you happen to come across it, grab it! It's gorgeous. I like to wear this two ways; folded in half (triangle) and wrapped around once with the point at the center, with the Alexander McQueen print visible. This style is both chic and polished, a contrast which I love with the signature skull print. My other favorite way to wear these is simply to wear it around my neck (unfolded) and allow it to drape loosely. This looks chic/edgy worn over jackets and coats, as well as certain outfits. It's a very light chiffon and can be worn during warmer months which I love. I get compliments every time I wear these. A staple in my accessories arsenal.

I had my eye on this silk chiffon scarf for a while. Especially since I live in NY and Alexander McQueen's exhibit was last summer at the MET. I think this scarf is edgy and delicate at the same time. The skulls are McQueen all the way but I noticed that if people don't know McQueen they may not understand the skull theme. Fun to wear for a soft but slightly shock value.

I love this scarf, but like the previous poster said, people who aren't familiar with the McQueen skulls may be thrown off by it. My friend looked at me like I had three heads when I showed up wearing a scarf with skulls on it :) Regardless, I love the scarf - I think it adds a fun, edgy twist to any outfit!

I have a few of these scarves. The last two I purchased from Nordstrom were the blue, red/pink & white and a pale peach one. I also own a few in other colors. I LOVE these scarves! They are just so versatile and the longer length helps give my upper body the illusion of being, well, longer! As I am large busted not all scarves suit me but these are just perfect! Not too thick so I don't look swamped in them. I get so many compliments when I wear these scarves. I drape them over a t-shirt and jeans and violá, I go from wearing a boring outfit to statement piece. They go well with sweater also. They are also easy to wear in many different ways. I know the instructions say dry clean but I hand wash mine and iron them while damp. They come out perfect every time though of course, I could not recommend you do that. I am very happy with the quality. The more you wear them the softer they get. The colors are gorgeous! Though delicate, they aren't fragile. I plan on adding more to my collection!

This review might be biased, as I am an avid Alexander McQueen skull scarf collector. The scarves dazzle me with artistic color schemes that can make a plain outfit standing out. They can be paired with jeans, leggings, harem pants, jackets and even blazers, and can easily give you an edgy, chic look. However, I have to say that not every color scheme amuses me, and the scarves are not really for everyone. The edgy look makes the scarves more compatible to contemporary/gothic clothing styles. The silk fabric is easily snagged so extra care has to be taken. Other than that, it is a great fashion piece.
