Metallic Jacquard Portrait Collar Cocktail Midi Dress

This dress did not fit at all, and the fabric was scratchy! That is part of the reason I’m giving it such a low review. The rest has to do with the order pick up process at the Nordstrom Galleria in Houston. You go up to the third floor, show your email confirming purchase and pick it up. That portion was quite easy, and the clerk was very pleasant and helpful. In order to try the dress on, you walk over tovery temporary – looking dressing rooms outside of which there’s a three-way mirror. The dressing rooms are quite small, and the three-way mirror can be seen by other shoppers. There is no provision made for talking to a sales person about different sizing or anything like that at all. I asked the clerk to call alterations, in case the dress could be altered to fit me, but no one came for 10 minutes. Unfortunately in the past few years, Nordstrom’s stock inventory and their level of service has gone down. It is quite a disappointment!

While previous reviewers are correct that the fabric has some texture due to the shimmering metallic threads woven through it, this was exactly what I expected from the photos. The subtle sparkle is what makes this dress perfect for a holiday event—it’s festive without being overly flashy. I wore this to my company’s Christmas party and felt perfectly appropriately dressed: elegant, put-together, and comfortably within the dress code. Best of all, it delivered this polished look without exceeding my budget. I liked it a lot and would recommend it for anyone seeking an affordable, celebration-ready outfit.
